BEACH HOLIDAYS IN AFRICA

Africa is considered the second largest after Asia with a total of approximately 1.4 billion people as of the year 2021 and is believed to have a vast range of resources hence a continent rich in flora and fauna. Diani Beach

This is located 30 kilometres South of Mombasa on the Indian ocean in Kwale county and was voted as Africa’s beach leading destination over the years since 2015. Diani is considered one of the most prominent and busiest beaches in Kenya due to its strategic location. It is characterised by the baobab and palm trees that add uniqueness. Different activities and sports can be carried out in Diani and these include skydiving, scuba diving, golf playing, visiting the Shimba hills national park, jet skiing, kite surfing, snorkelling, exploring Fort Jesus and visiting the local community around. Anse Source D’Argent island, Seychelles

This is known as one of the most photographed beaches. It is characterised by white sand, coconut palms that add to the beauty of this beach. A lot of tourists visit the beaches from different corners of the world and are ready to enjoy the beautiful sunsets, take a walk around the beach and relax under the palm tree shades during times of hot sunshine.

Ifaty

This is located approximately 22 kilometres from Tulear city and is considered one of the best beaches in Madagascar. Relax in comfort and views with family, friends and loved ones. Nungwi Beach

This is located on the Northern end of Zanzibar Island and has a population of over 30,762 as of population census of 2022.It is also considered as the second largest settlement of Zanzibar Island in Kaskazini in the Unguja North region.  The beach boasts of white sand and low cliffs rising above the beach. It is suitable for evening walks as you enjoy the sunsets, also an ideal for morning sunbathing

Tofo Beach

Tofo beach is located in the South Eastern part of Mozambique and lies on the Indian ocean coast. It is known to be a land of diverse cultures with a rich cultural heritage. History of Tofo dates back to the pre-colonial era when the town was originally occupied by Bitonga people and these were skilled fishermen and traders. Tofo prides itself in having a sandy beach with turquoise waters, surrounded by mangroves and palm trees. Sea turtles, dolphins and whales are also reasons for the tourists stay at this unique island

Bazaruto Island

Bazaruto means island in the mist. It is located 80 kilometres South East of Save river and the largest island in Bazaruto national park and Bazaruto Archipelago. The island boasts of whales and dolphins as well as over 2,000 fish species together with untouched beauty and diverse ecologies. The increasing build up of the coastline has made it more popular as a tourist destination in Mozambique.

Camps Bay Beach

Camps bay is located in the suburbs of South Africa and is one of the busiest beaches in summer attracting tourists from all corners of the world as well as South Africans. The history of camps bay dates back to the early times of the San also known as hunter gatherers and Khoi pastoralists. Watamu Beach

This is located on Kenya’s coastline and has a population of around 30,000 North of Mombasa. Sharm el Sheikh

This is located in Egypt on the Southern part of Sinai Peninsula along the Red Sea with a population of approximately 73,000. It is one of the busiest centres for tourism and attracts international conferences and diplomatic meetings.  It is also known as a city of peace. The beach is a good hub for swimming and diving on the Red Sea. 

Naama Bay

Naama bay is known as the main hub for tourists because of its strategically located beaches, marine life and the crystal-clear waters. Coffee Bay

This is located on the wild coast of the Eastern cape province of South Africa and gets its name from the so many numbers of coffee trees. Coffee bay has beautiful beaches and here you get to relax. Activities like surfing, mountain biking and swimming are carried out at the coffee bay

Chitimba Beach

This is situated approximately 125 kilometres South of Malawi with busy restaurants, bars, lounges. Chitimba is densely populated and this makes it a peaceful destination as it is not over crowded with so many travellers compared to other areas. Tamarindo Beach

This is located in Sierra Leone and tourists are welcomed by the echoes of the birds and the mountains. Activities like swimming, hiking down the river an be taken by the tourists visiting this place

Beyin Beach

This is located in the Jomoro district in Western Ghana.  It is known to have a sandy beach surrounded by palm trees. The beach also acts as a fishing ground for the local fishermen who cast their net as they wait for the end of the day’s catch. It is also a good location for taking clear and good photographs because of the beautiful surroundings
