What are the public holidays & why they are celebrated in UK?
There are around eight public holidays a year in the UK, which you can use to plan your days off. So what is on this list? Easter Monday, Boxing Day (December 26), New Year’s Day (January 1), Good Friday (April 18) and Christmas Day (December 25). What about other days you might be interested in taking off? May 1, July 12 and August 2nd-4th are all bank holidays as well! The Easter Bank Holiday falls on Monday immediately following Good Friday each year. April 19th is St George’s Day, though this will usually fall on a weekday. November 5th is bonfire night where fireworks are commonly let off in celebration!
